My name is Peter Pasco. I’m a senior integrated marketing communications (IMC) major at Ithaca College in Ithaca, NY. I am also minoring in communication management & design. This blog was created as part of my Marketing on the Internet course that I am currently taking in the Spring semester of 2009.
More on my background…I’m hoping to break into the advertising industry after graduating this May. While I’m not sure what department I’d like to work in, I know that I want to get started working at an advertising agency. This past summer, I was a project management intern at Saatchi & Saatchi Healthcare Advertising. I landed this internship through the American Association of Advertising Agencies’ (AAAA) Multicultural Advertising Intern Program (MAIP). While working in the professional healthcare division of Saatchi & Saatchi, I got to work on brands for AstraZeneca and Boehringer Ingelheim. In 2007, I also did a creative internship at TH Outdoor & Events, a small non-traditional advertising and event planning company based in New York City.
While I’m at school, I have been and still am extremely involved with on-campus organizations. I was recently appointed as the creative director for my Ad Lab class, a senior capstone course centered around the American Advertising Federation’s (AAF) National Student Advertising Competition (NSAC). I’m also currently the director of marketing for the Senior Class Executive Board. At the end of the Fall 2008 semester, I resigned from my position as the vice executive chair of marketing for IC After Dark, a student-run organization that plans free late-night events for the Ithaca College community. I served on its Executive Board for five semesters, three semesters as the advertising chair and two semesters as the vice executive chair of marketing.
